Our gold vermeil pieces are made with a sterling silver base, finished with a layer of 18k gold.
Unlike standard gold plating over base metals, vermeil uses precious metal throughout: sterling silver beneath, gold on the surface. This gives the piece the warmth and richness of gold, while keeping the integrity of a precious silver foundation.
Gold vermeil is an ideal choice for those seeking fine jewellery at a more accessible price point than solid gold, without compromising on quality.
925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is the foundation of many Marosi Studio pieces. We use 925 sterling silver for its strength, brightness, and ability to hold sculptural form.
Silver jewelry can be made from pure silver, also known as fine silver (99.9% pure), or more commonly from sterling silver (92.5% pure silver mixed with other metals like copper for added strength and durability)
Its cool tone gives each piece a refined clarity, whether worn alone or finished with gold vermeil.
Natural and Semi Precious Gemstones
Gemstones are at the heart of Marosi Studio.
Each stone is selected for its natural beauty, not for perfect uniformity. We are drawn to colour, depth, inclusions, texture, and the quiet irregularities that make a stone feel alive.
Green onyx, rhodolite, white topaz, and other natural gemstones are chosen for the way they interact with light and metal. Some stones are vivid and grounding. Others are soft, luminous, or delicate in tone. No two are exactly the same, and this is part of their value.
